Hal Davis - Happy Days

Hal Davis’ set-up for Happy Days - A New Musical at the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center in Grants Pass, Oregon.

“A fun musical score composed by Paul Williams. Due mostly to limited space, Musical Director flexibility, and non-availability of cartage fees, my Miller Machine covered triangle, bell tree, and a few glockenspiel parts!

My Drumset is a ’67 Rogers Dayton (12" tom, 16” floor tom and 20" bass drum). The Snare is a 5.5”x14” Ayotte Custom (Ray-era). The Cymbals are all Zildjian. I have a 20” K ride, 15” Paper Thin crash, 10” A splash and 14” hats (’80’s K on the bottom and Armand on top) I’m using DW 5000 pedals. My auxiliary percussion consists of a slide whistle, siren whistle, LP Cyclops tambourine and LP folding bar chimes.

The Miller Machine is a simple, well-engineered, invaluable addition to my set-up! Looking forward to the next time I need to use it!”

Hal is Principal Percussionist with the Rogue Valley Symphony in Ashland, Oregon. They perform concerts in Ashland, Medford and Grants Pass, Oregon.
