Katie Steinhauer - Bring It On: The Musical

Katie’s drum set setup for the National Tour of Bring It On: The Musical.

“This is my setup for the tour of Bring it On: The Musical. I'm using a six piece Pearl Vision Kit. A 22” bass drum, 8”, 10”, 12” mounted toms and a 16” floor tom. I also have a 14” Pacific Maple Snare a 12” Gretsch Popcorn Snare a 13” Pearl Piccolo Snare and a standard Yamaha Marching Snare. The cymbals I’m using are a 21” Zildjian Sweet Ride, a Sabian 16” XS China and 8” XS Splash, a 17” Zildjian K Custom Dark Crash, 15” Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash, 14” Zildjian K Custom Fast Crash and 15” Zildjian K Light Hats.

I also have a Toca Djembe an LP Jam Block a mounted tambourine, Treeworks Chimes with a finger cymbal mount, a Miller Machine (mounted to my hi hat stand) and an LP egg shaker.

I’m also using a Yamaha DTX Multi Pad for all my sound effects. I have all DW 5000 hardware except for the extra arms/percussion mounts which are Gibraltar. And to top it all off, my Pork Pie Throne!

I'm using all Evans Heads and Vic Firth Sticks/Hotrods/Brushes and Mike Balter Mallets.

This show calls for so many snares! I'm switching between them constantly throughout the show. There is one song where I actually play the marching snare and piccolo snare at the same time for a Drumline effect. Most of the samples I play on the Yamaha DTX are finger snaps, hand claps, vibes/chimes, other random snare patches and all sorts of fun things!!”

Katie is a proud endorser of Humes and Berg Drum Cases.
