Nick Coulter - The Wizard Of Oz

Here is Nick’s setup for Andrew Lloyd Webbers The Wizard Of Oz at the Ed Mervish Theatre in Toronto.

“The cajon is played standing for a couple of reasons. I have to play kick at the same time, and it's awkward when sitting to do that, I find. Also, miking a cajon doesn't lend itself all that easily to moving it around unless its clipped on, and this one is only used for one number in the show.  Better to play it standing, let sound mic it the way they like, and nothing has to move, nothing is in the way and it sounds good. It's got a great sound like that. Really live.”
